Forgotten City workshop

Forgotten City

We continued our long-standing relationship with Hull and East Riding Ability by working closely with groups across the region for the heritage project Forgotten City.

Ability secured funding from Heritage Lottery to create the concept of Forgotten City, an exploration for groups across the region to uncover the impact WWII had upon local life, culture and architecture.

Artists Ali Hunter, Anthony Hatfield, Susanna Hull, Wayne Wolton, Jean Hardwick and Frances Kelly worked closely with Kings Mill School, Barchester Healthcare, Kingston Youth Centre, RISC, LAFF, and Adult Education to create plays, newsreel films, photography exhibitions and artefacts culminating in an exhibition and celebration event held in the Gemtec Arena.
